By now many of you will have received my Christmas letter and will know that once I got to Europe in September, I had a wonderful holiday. The weather was great. It was good to visit with friends and family and I got back to Toronto around the end of October.
From that point on, I have been running….. Visa applications, vaccinations, doctor appointments. I had my gall bladder out. I am happy to say my passport is back in my hot little hands with all the visas in place. The needles are over with no great after effects, and my gall bladder doc says I am good to go on this “around the world cruise” and that I can eat whatever I want, except watch the fat!! I guess that means no butter eh?
Christmas is at the door and I am looking forward to having the family here at the condo. The apartment is decorated and I am ready for Santa. Girls Christmas has come and gone in a fury of presents and conversation and laughter – always so good for my heart and soul to get together with these dear friends of oh so many years.
My luggage is being picked up here at the condo on December 21 and will be waiting for me in my cabin when I get there January 3. I have been waitlisted for a veranda suite since I booked this trip almost a year and a half ago, and just this past week one finally freed up and I am pleased to say I am in Cabin 6001, right at the front of the ship, between the two owner’s suites. What luck!! My agent tells me I will have a huge veranda and a 180 view of wherever the ship is heading.
I know, I know, the front of the ship is not the best place to be if it gets rough – midship they say – but I don’t care. I don’t think I get seasick anyway and have always said that, at night it’s like being rocked to sleep in a cradle. So my mantra for the next six months will be – Look Out World!! Here I Come!!
Merry Christmas wishes to all with lots of love and I will keep in touch via this blog. I would love to hear from you also during this wonderful voyage. It will help keep me tethered to you all as I sail around the world. Any advice or hints or “must sees” that you can suggest are warmly welcome.
Happy New Year !!. I hope 2018 is the start of a much more peaceful and content old world for all of us.
Lots of hugs, Pat
