For many parts of the world today is Labour Day, and for many countries in Europe its a day for men & women to dance around the Maypole in traditional costumes.

The symbolism of the maypole has been debated for centuries  some scholars claim it is the symbol for the world axis.  Others that it is a remnant of the Germanic reverence for trees.  While others view them as having phallic symbolism……
